The sound is so-so, it would be better to buy something more expensive. Diaphragm paper.

If you are expecting some loud speakers these are not for you, but are perfect for what I wanted, just a set of speakers loud enough for some background music in the kitchen while cooking etc. I have wired them to a mp3 player bought off here and they do the job just fine, loud enough to clearly hear the radio while cooking. They are plastic but seem strong enough and not a bad finish to them
